Gwembe Town Council has announced that Management has operationalised the Ward Development Account.
Council Director of Finance, Mr. Collins Kalonde disclosed that a total of K108,388.00 has so far been retained in the account in compliance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
Mr. Kalonde has explained that the local authority is targeting to raise about K500, 000 for the current financial year.
He has since urged all wards to prioritise and budget for minor development projects that can be implemented within the available resources under this initiative.
He was speaking during the Finance and General Purpose, Valuation and Commercial Undertaking Committee today.
